Book Description
“Series of Teaching Foreigners Chinese Grammar” is the achievement of “Research and Development of Grammar Syllabus for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and Teaching Reference Grammar Series (Multi-volume)”, a major project of National Social Science Foundation of China sponsored by Professor Qi Huyang, which has been selected as the “2022 Founding Project of National Publication Foundation”. As an important reference book for international Chinese language education, it aims to build and improve the “Grammar System of Chinese Teaching” for foreign students to meet the development needs of the new era. It mainly serves the first-line Chinese teachers, researchers, graduate students and undergraduates majoring in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. This series consists of 39 volumes, including 4 outline series, 26 book series, 8 summary series, and 1 collection of essays.
This book is a collection of some of the best academic papers published during the research process of “Research and Development of Grammar Syllabus for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and Teaching Reference Grammar Series (Multi-volume)”. It is divided into two parts: the first one focuses on the study of modern Chinese grammar ontology with 15 papers contained, which is mainly dedicated to exploring and researching on grammar, and reveals the grammatical rules that have not yet been recognized or are not sufficiently recognized; and the second one focuses on the study of grammar for teaching Chinese as a foreign language with 10 papers contained, which mainly reflects on the theoretical level of the actual situation, or discusses specific problems.
About the Author
Zhang Yajun is a Ph.D. in Philology of Chinese Language from Shanghai Normal University, as well as a professor in the College of Liberal Arts, Yangzhou University. Professor Zhang’s research mainly focuses on grammar theory and application, and international Chinese language education. He has published many papers in Studies of the Chinese Language, Linguistic Sciences and other professional journals, two monographs, and several edited and co-edited textbooks.
Pan Guoying is a Ph.D. in Philology of Chinese Language from East China Normal University, as well as a professor in the School of Humanities, Huzhou Normal University. His research mainly focuses on modern Chinese grammar. He has published nearly 40 papers in professional journals such as Chinese Teaching in the World, Research in Ancient Chinese Language, and Chinese Language Learning, as well as three monographs and several teaching materials.
