Immense trésor artistique classé au patrimoine mondial de l'humanité par l'UNESCO en 1995, l'ancienne capitale du Laos est parfaitement conservée et n'a pas encore été touchée par notre modernisme. Elle a gardé sa douceur de vivre.

Vincent Besançon est venu ici à plusieurs reprises pour dessiner dans ces lieux paisibles, enveloppés d'une profonde sérénité, et espère y revenir encore. Le site n'a rien de grandiose ou d'impressionnant, mais une harmonie profonde et spirituelle s'en dégage, qui saisit chacun.

Francis Engelmann, qui a travaillé avec passion à la conservation de ce patrimoine, vit sur place depuis de nombreuses années.

Luang Prabang, the ancient capital of the first Lao kingdom, is perfectly preserved, and has not yet been touched by modernism. In 1995, it became a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its lifestyle has remained gentle.

Vincent Besançon visited a few times, drawing those peaceful places, shrouded in a profound serenity. He hopes to go back. The site is not grandiose or impressive, but the profound and spiritual harmony, that emanates from it, affects everybody.
